D'una recent entrevista al cantant Kris Kristofferson.
Pregunta Sé que és una pregunta retòrica, ja que la seva opinió queda implícita a cançons com ara "Pilgrim's Progress", però, ¿què opina de la teoria segons la qual amb l'edat la gent es fa més conservadora?
Resposta Evidentment, no és el meu cas. I no crec que hagi de ser així. En envellir adquereixes més experiència i et fas més conservador o radical (a ulls dels conservadors) en funció de com reacciones davant aquesta experiència. Jo he fet un gir de 180 graus amb respecte a com era quan em vaig allistar a l'exèrcit. En aquella època només pensava a pagar el meu deute amb el meu país perquè és el que sentia a les emissores militars. Però, en ampliar-se la meva experiència vaig entendre coses com ara que mai hauríem d'haver anat a Vietnam o, més tard, que mai hauríem d'haver entrat a Irak.
